A SERIOUS AND CONSCIOUS INFORMATION.
The adherents to the Italian association of
liberal culture, "Società Libera", which
demonstrate in front of the European Parliament in
Strasbourg - September 14, at 12 o’clock, Pont du
Wacken - want to draw attention to the comatose
state of information in Italy.
Our advertising system exclusively follows a pure
logic of political affiliation, in which the media
stand uncritically in favour or against the
government, to the detriment of the rights of
readers.
Conflicts of interest between politics, economy and
information in Italy discredit the role of
information seen as a necessary instrument of
freedom.
In Italy there’s no journalism of inquiry.
In Italy you do not practice insights on
international scenery.
In Italy you talk about any subject, always in
favour or against a political party.
Public funds to the publishing, precariousness and
political control of careers have made the Italian
journalists politically dependent, with the result
that completeness, quality of information and
professionalism have reached unacceptable levels.
The alarm from people that, like us, want the
affirmation of an open-minded and free society, it
is an accusation to the Italian journalism for his
whole complicity, conformity and submission to the
political and economic powers.
This is our appeal to raise the awareness of the
representative organ of the Italian and European
journalism.
